On Exercise

Wow. I feel amazing. Although the first few days were incredibly rough, by the 4th day, I started to crave the elliptical. I have more energy and clarity than I've had in ages and am definitely more happy. A bonus: I even weight and my size 2 pants are now loose. Awesome.

Next week: do a random act of kindness each day.

Finding my inner bliss

I was at dinner with my father the other night when I was struck with these simple words: "All the accomplishments in the world are worthless if you aren't happy." Although he went on talking about Tibetan monks, our topic of conversation, and quickly forgot about his statement, it stuck with me. Truly thinking about it, what is the world if one cannot enjoy it?

I've decided to dedicate this blog to, quite literally, the pursuit of happiness. Every week I will try a new technique to increase my happiness, my quality of life. Be it as simple as exercise and meditation or as obscure as taking eastern herbs and acupuncture, if there's literature supporting it, I'll try it.

So, without further ado, I'll begin my first week with a simple task: to exercise half an hour every day.

I'll report back in a week on any changes in energy level and overall life satisfaction.

Until then:
To happiness!
